ammonia bucket
He was late because his mother had caught him resting his hands out of the scalding, soapy water that he was washing his brother's breakfast dishes in. He had taken his hands out to relieve the screaming flesh on them, flesh that had been stripped of all skin by immersion in a bucket of ammonia during a recent punishment.

This was a great inspiring book. David went through all of this as a child and now in the present day he forgives his mother for everything that she did to him. I couldn't forgive someone if they did that to me! Did ya'll hear about the woman that read this book and tried to recreate it. It's horrible!!!!
~Naomi~
PS- Did ya'll read the sequel (The Lost Boy)? I read it but I did not read the last one (A Man Called David).

well Naomi...I did read the 2 first books, but i havent got the time to read his third book yet.
No i havent heard about that woamn...but it sure is horrible...why recreate something that already is so perfect...but sure i just wanted to slap somebody when i read the lost boy.
Hmm...dont ppl think of that it maybe is the parents wrong that the childrens r getting on a fosterhome, and not the childrens fault.

i read all three of his books about his life and i find it pretty good... at first when it comes to book one, it's bad for me and i just gots to say that i do hate the mom and all that too.... geesh... it's really hard reading about someone's else life and just don't get really into it... i mean his life is emotional to me... i almost cry and i really do think that he's such a good person now u know! it's still good to me and i got to say... Stephen have such a wonderful father while all my dad ever really do with us these days is nothing but stay in hte same room... i have never really go through something as bad as him but i just might know how it feels if it ever comes my way...
